Terms of use

The practical terms for using ZeroFlare and this website.

Last updated October 4, 2026

These terms apply to ZeroFlare and zeroflare.app, provided by ZeroFlare (“we”, “us”). By using the app or website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Your use is also subject to our privacy policy and any applicable terms from Apple.

A diary, not medical advice

ZeroFlare helps you record and review your own information. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, and it is not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Do not change medication, treatment, or diet based solely on the app. If you believe you have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service.

Using ZeroFlare

You may use the app for your personal, lawful purposes. You are responsible for the information you enter, the device and Apple Account you use, and the reports or exports you choose to share. You must be at least 16 to use the app. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must provide any required consent and supervise your use.

You must not misuse the app or website, interfere with their operation, attempt unauthorised access, or upload or share content you do not have the right to use. You retain your rights in the content you enter. You permit the processing needed to store, back up, export, and otherwise provide the features you choose.

Health records, insights, and reminders

Charts, summaries, and reports are based on the entries and information available to the app. They may be incomplete or inaccurate and do not establish the cause of symptoms. Lab-result records do not interpret or replace a healthcare professional’s advice.

Notifications depend on device permissions, operating-system behaviour, settings, and battery conditions. Do not rely on ZeroFlare as your only medication reminder, emergency alert, or source of health records.

Local storage and iCloud

ZeroFlare stores diary information locally and attempts automatic backup to private iCloud storage when available. Backup and restore depend on your Apple Account, internet connection, available storage, device compatibility, and Apple’s services. They may not complete immediately or at all if those requirements are not met.

Check the app’s backup status before deleting the app or changing devices. Keep independent copies of information you need to retain. Deleting an entry, erasing the app’s data, uninstalling the app, and deleting an iCloud copy are different actions; see the privacy policy for details.

Purchases and subscriptions

Some features may require a purchase or subscription. The price, billing period, included features, and any trial offer are shown in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation before you agree to pay. We do not set a purchase price through these terms.

Apple handles billing. Subscriptions renew according to the terms displayed at purchase unless you cancel through your Apple Account. Deleting the app or erasing your diary does not cancel a subscription. You can manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your account settings. Refund requests are handled through Apple’s applicable process.

Where available, use Restore Purchases in the app with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Purchase verification and restoration require an internet connection. Subscription access and diary backup are separate services.

Our app and third-party services

The app’s software, branding, and design belong to us or the relevant rights holders. These terms give you a limited right to use ZeroFlare; they do not transfer ownership of those materials. Rights granted by applicable law, including lawful interoperability rights, are unaffected.

Apple, iCloud, RevenueCat, and other services you choose to open have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability or operation. Links are provided for convenience and do not mean that we control the linked service.

Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features, including to maintain compatibility or security. We aim to keep the app useful but do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or a particular health outcome. Material changes to these terms will be reflected here, with an updated date, and communicated in the app where appropriate.

Responsibility and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided as available, without additional warranties about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate entries, decisions made without professional advice, or failure to keep a necessary independent record, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or takes away any mandatory consumer rights you have. Any dispute will be subject to applicable law and the rights and remedies available in the jurisdiction that applies to you.
