Your diary. Your privacy.
A clear explanation of what stays on your device, what uses iCloud, and what happens when you contact us.
Privacy policy · Last updated October 4, 2026
This policy explains how ZeroFlare (“we”, “us”) handles information. This policy covers the ZeroFlare iPhone app and zeroflare.app. For privacy questions or requests, contact arshpreet@billionweb.co.
You do not need a ZeroFlare account. Your diary saves on your device, with automatic backup to your private iCloud storage when available. Purchases and any support messages you send are handled separately. This website has no advertising pixels or analytics scripts.
The information you keep in your diary
The app stores the information you choose to enter. This can include your name or nickname, profile and onboarding answers, bowel movements, symptoms, food and meal notes, photos, medications and dose records, lab results, recipes, pantry and grocery items, preferences, and reminders.
These records are stored locally so you can use your diary without an internet connection. The current offline diary does not send your journal entries to a ZeroFlare account server or to an AI service. If you choose to export or share a report, the recipient or destination you select will receive that information.
Private iCloud backup and restore
When you are signed in to an Apple Account and iCloud is available, ZeroFlare automatically saves a backup to the app’s private iCloud storage using Apple’s CloudKit service. The backup can include diary records, profile details, app preferences, and referenced photo attachments. It is used to restore your diary when you use the same Apple Account.
iCloud backup requires internet access and available iCloud storage. It may be delayed or unavailable because of device settings, connectivity, or Apple service availability. Check the backup status in the app before removing it or moving to a different device. Apple operates iCloud under its own privacy policy and service terms.
Optional permissions and Apple Health
- Apple Health: If you enable the integration and grant permission, ZeroFlare can read steps, sleep, and heart-rate variability, and write selected bowel, symptom, and nutrition information to Apple Health. You choose the permitted categories in Apple’s permission controls. Health information is used for the features you enable, not for targeted advertising.
- Photos and camera: You can choose a photo or take one for an entry. Attached photos are stored with your diary and can be included in iCloud backup and exports.
- Notifications: With permission, the app schedules local diary and medication reminders. You can manage notification permission in iPhone Settings.
You can review or revoke these permissions through your device’s settings. Revoking a permission does not automatically remove records previously saved in your diary or in Apple Health.
Purchases and service providers
Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple. ZeroFlare uses RevenueCat to check purchase status, restore access, and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat can process an anonymous app user identifier, transaction and subscription information, and associated device or app information. You do not create a ZeroFlare login for this. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Apple may provide app installation or purchase attribution information through its platform services. The current offline app does not activate its remote product-analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Purchase services and Apple platform services can still communicate over the network.
Read the RevenueCat privacy policy and Apple privacy policy for details of their processing.
Export, deletion, and your choices
You can edit or delete diary entries in the app and use the export option to create a copy of your saved data, including attached photos. Exported files and shared reports may contain sensitive health information; choose their destination carefully.
The app’s erase-data option removes your local diary records, attached photos, and app preferences, and queues the corresponding deletion updates for iCloud. Keep the app open with internet access until the backup update completes. Removing the app alone may leave an iCloud copy available for restoration. Copies you have exported, shared, or saved in device backups are separate and must be managed in those locations. Data written to Apple Health can be managed in the Health app.
Your local diary and iCloud copy remain until you delete them or manage the relevant device or cloud storage. Support correspondence is retained for handling your request and related operational or legal needs, then removed when no longer needed. Apple and RevenueCat apply their own retention practices to purchase records.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information we hold, or to raise a concern with your local privacy authority. Email us to make a request. We may need information to verify the request; because your diary is stored locally and in your private iCloud storage, we cannot simply look up its contents in a ZeroFlare account.
Website visits and support messages
This website does not use analytics scripts, advertising pixels, browser storage, or nonessential cookies. Our hosting and network providers may process ordinary connection and security information, such as an IP address, requested page, request time, browser information, and error details, to deliver and protect the site.
When you email support, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. Our email provider processes these messages to deliver and store our correspondence. Share only the information needed to explain your question; you do not need to send your full health diary.
Security, providers, and international processing
We use device storage and Apple’s private iCloud facilities for the diary, and limit this website to public information and support links. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device, Apple Account, and any copies you export.
Our hosting, email, and purchase service providers may process relevant information in countries other than your own. The protections and controls applicable to those services are described in their policies. We do not sell your diary data or provide it to advertisers. We may disclose information we actually hold when required by law or when necessary to protect security and legal rights.
Children and changes to this policy
You must be at least 16 to use ZeroFlare. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must provide any required consent and supervise your use. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a support message, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
We may update this policy as the app or our services change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this website as appropriate.
